Selective memory
Robaina wanted to honor Raul Martinez. On December 13, 2005, the Hialeah council passed Resolution 05-141 to name the Hialeah City Hall as the “Raul L. Martinez Government Center”

“Proposed resolution naming City Hall, 501 Palm Avenue, Hialeah, Florida as the Raul L. Martinez Government Center in honor of Raul L. Martinez and in commemoration of his 28 years of distinguished and exemplary public service to the City of Hialeah in elected office, representing the City for 4 years as a City Councilmember and leading the City for 24 years as Mayor with inspiration and extraordinary vision.  APPROVED (7-0) RESO. 05-141

The Resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote with Councilmembers Bovo, Caragol, E. Gonzalez, L. Gonzalez, Hernandez, Miel, and Yedra voting “Yes.”

Mayor Julio Robaina was happy to sign the resolution on December 14, 2005.

Rewriting History
This is what’s call Rewriting History. It is obvious these politicians want us to forget how Martinez took politics to a new low:

It’s an ego thing.
Robaina learned very well from Martinez the tricks of the trade
