Commissioners Fighting to be Chairman; Jackson Hospital Salary Scandal and Excessive Spending

Latest Scandal from the Miami Dade commission

Miami, Florida (Nov. 16, 2010)

1) According to its statutes, the board of county commissioners had to choose today a president. But they failed to do – it seems that nearly all the commissioners want to president of the board.
2) Yet another scandal with Jackson Hospital: Excessive spending and the new salary of the president of the Jackson Foundation:

Overspending by the Jackson Foundation – a waste of public funds:
$ 6,295 for five-day cruises
$ 7,154 in flowers, gifts and birthday cakes
$ 8,271 for expenses and personal services for executives
$37,414 in restaurant meals
$ 12,290 in limousine services

In addition, the President of the Jackson Foundation, Rolando Rodriguez who receives a salary of $ 250,000 a year, has just received an extension of his contract with a severance pay promise of $ 52,000 in case he is fired.

The Jackson Hospital has a $ 224 million deficit – the worst in its history.

2) Ha salido a la luz otro escándalo sobre los gasto excesivos y el nuevo salario del presidente de la cuestionada fundación Jackson:

Gastos excesivos de la Fundacion Jackson – un mal gasto de los fondos publicos:
$6,295 en cruceros de 5 dias
$7,154 en flores, regalos y tortas de cumpleanos
$8,271 para gastos y servicios personales de ejecutivos
$37,414 en comidas de restaurantes
$12,290 en servicios de limosinas

Ademas, el Presidente de la fundacion Jackson, Rolando Rodriguez, que recibe un salario de $250,000 anuales, acaba de recibir una extension de su contrato donde se le promete $52,000 adicionales en caso de que sea despedido.

El Jackson Hospital tiene un deficit $224 millones – el peor de su historia.
